It seems that billionaire Elon Musk is considering withdrawing the “X” social media platform (formerly Twitter) from the European Union. On Thursday, the Business Insider website quoted a source familiar with the company as saying that the American-Canadian businessman is dissatisfied with the European Union’s digital services law. The Digital Services Law requires large online platforms to take consistent and rapid action against hate speech, among other things. The European Commission had addressed the “X” platform regarding the procedures followed for the social network to fulfill its obligations, in light of what it considered to be the spread of “calls for violence and misleading information on the (X) platform” after the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” launched the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation on October 7th.
